Transfer metadata authority on Solana
Hand over a Solana token’s metadata update authority to another wallet. This changes who can edit mutable metadata, not the token supply.

Token controls
Actions depend on this token’s current permissions. Removed authorities cannot be restored.
Project page & links
Publish a public project page or update its links. Approve edits with the project owner’s wallet message. This does not change on-chain metadata.
Contract source
Before you start
A supported Solana metadata account and its current update-authority wallet, plus the new authority address.
How to use this tool
- Inspect the token’s metadata and current update authority.
- Enter the verified replacement authority address.
- Approve the handover and check the authority recorded on chain.
What changes
The replacement authority controls permitted future metadata edits. This does not transfer token balances or the mint and freeze authorities.
Hand metadata maintenance to your project wallet while keeping mint authority in a different wallet.
Common problem
Why can the new wallet not edit the metadata?
Check the completed handover and whether the metadata is already immutable. Transferring authority cannot unlock immutable fields.
Network and protocol costs are separate. Your transaction review shows the current amounts.
