Update token metadata on Solana
Update a Solana token’s editable name, symbol and metadata URI. The current update authority must approve; existing creators and royalties are preserved.
Service fee: 0 SOL
Token controls
Actions depend on this token’s current permissions. Removed authorities cannot be restored.
Project page & links
Publish a public project page or update its links. Approve edits with the project owner’s wallet message. This does not change on-chain metadata.
Contract source
Before you start
A supported Solana token with mutable metadata and its current update-authority wallet. Prepare a publicly accessible metadata JSON URI.
How to use this tool
- Inspect the mint and check that metadata updates are still allowed.
- Enter the supported name, symbol and metadata URI changes.
- Check the JSON and image links, then review and approve the update.
What changes
The supported on-chain metadata fields change. This tool preserves existing creators, collection, uses and royalties; it does not change supply.
Point the metadata URI to a JSON document whose image field references the new artwork, rather than using an image URL as the JSON URI.
Common problem
Why does my wallet still show the old image?
Check the confirmed metadata URI first. Wallets can cache previews, and editing a JSON file does not force every wallet to refresh immediately.
Network and protocol costs are separate. Your transaction review shows the current amounts.
