How to create a BNB Chain NFT collection.
Create an ERC-721 collection on BNB Smart Chain, set its permanent supply cap and mint NFTs with your wallet.
Before you start
- A wallet connected to BNB Smart Chain, with BNB for the service fee and gas.
- A collection name, symbol, cover image and a lifetime supply cap.
- Choose your royalty settings and keep control of the owner wallet.
1. Choose your collection artwork
Use a logo, cover or image that represents the whole collection. A square 1024 × 1024 image is a good starting point. Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP up to 2 MB. This is the collection cover; each NFT gets its own artwork when you mint it.
2. Choose the permanent settings
Set the collection name, symbol, lifetime maximum supply, royalty rate and royalty recipient. This collection version fixes the supply cap, metadata URIs and royalty settings. Burning an NFT does not reopen supply under the lifetime cap. Marketplace policies determine whether royalties are paid.
3. Create on BNB Smart Chain
Connect your wallet to BNB Smart Chain mainnet, chain ID 56. Keep BNB on this network for the service fee and gas. Review and approve the factory transaction: the empty collection and service payment succeed together. Your wallet owns the new ERC-721 contract.
4. Mint NFTs into your collection
Open Manage your collections, select your collection and add an NFT name, artwork and recipient. You can also mint up to 20 items with existing metadata URIs in one transaction. Adding NFTs has no RockTheCoin service fee; BNB gas still applies.
5. Hand over collection ownership
In Collection controls, enter the new owner wallet and review the handover. You stay in control until the nominated wallet opens the management link and accepts. The current owner can replace or cancel a pending handover. The new owner can manage and mint within the existing limits.
6. Permanently stop new minting
The current owner can permanently close minting from Collection controls after an explicit confirmation. This cannot be reopened, even by a future owner. Existing NFTs, transfers and the collection owner stay in place. Save your collection address and management link.
A capped collection on BNB Chain
For a collection with a lifetime cap of 100 items, mint in small batches and review each recipient. Burning an item does not make space for a replacement. You can permanently close minting before reaching the cap.
Common problems
My wallet shows Ethereum.
Switch to BNB Smart Chain, chain ID 56. ETH on Ethereum cannot pay BNB Smart Chain gas.
The new owner cannot mint.
The nominated wallet must accept the handover first. Also check that minting is open and the lifetime supply cap has not been reached.
Can I reopen minting?
Permanent mint closure cannot be undone. Ownership transfers and burning existing NFTs do not reopen minting or the lifetime cap.
