What changes
Burning permanently reduces your balance and the token supply. Sending tokens to an inaccessible address is a different action.
Burning 25 of your 100 tokens leaves 75 in your wallet and reduces supply by 25. It does not change the decimals.
Common problem
Why does the burn fail?
Frozen accounts, a paused token or contract restrictions can prevent burning. Check your available balance and the permissions shown after inspection.
